NB: This article is incorrect at present as R1Soft cPanel support is still pending for the latest version, please contact support if you require files restored via R1soft

Our R1Soft Backup system allows you to restore backups of files and folders to your account from up to 1 month ago in a few clicks, this is the best backup solution available for shared hosting we believe. Here is a quick guide on how to restore your files, please click the images for fullsize versions.

Firstly login to your cPanel and select the R1Soft icon shown below:

cPanel R1Soft Restore Backup

You will see a screen with a tree view, expand this fully and you will see a list of times and dates for all the backups of your files that are available to be restored. You can restore your whole account by selecting the home directory, and then choosing the restore button in the top right as shown below:

R1Soft User Restore Tree View

Once you have selected the files you wish to restore and pressed the restore button you will see the following screen:

R1Soft Backup User Restore Options

The two options available are:

    • Overwrite existing files

It will replace your current files with files from the backup even if they already exist. This would be useful if you’ve recently edited a file and this has caused a problem with your site.

    • Encrypt file data over network

This should always be selected so your backup data is restored securely.
